The day finally came. A day I have been dreading for quite some time. I knew it would happen soon, especially now that Brayden is in school and has a few friends.

Brady was invited to his first birthday party outside of the family! I hesitated on attending but it was his best school friend’s party. I kind of had to take him…

Okay, that was dramatic af! But seriously, the idea of going to a kids party not knowing any of the parents is so awkward! It’s not that I don’t like being social or that I don’t like meeting new people. I love it! I’m just HORRIBLE at it.

As you can see by Brayden’s face, he was even more nervous than me! I swear, this kid is a talker but his social skills completely shut off in certain settings. Brayden made me sit on the floor with the kids while they were making slime. I was so uncomfortable! Parents were trying to take photos of their kids with this huge adult sitting on the floor with them…

Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated that Brayden was not having any fun.. (By the way, Mad Science Parties was so fun and entertaining! I will definitely be booking them for a future party)!

In Reality…

Overall, it was not nearly as uncomfortable as I had built up in my mind. None of the parents talked to each other much, Brayden eventually got comfortable running around and playing with his friends. The stand out for me though was the cake! Oh my, the cake was good, I was actually astonished that it was so delicious! I wish I had found out where they had it made!
